July to September 2017Minister for Health Appalled at Hospital conditions (21 Sep. 2017)
Prof Narsey writes, that "returning to the real world after a pleasant month in North America, (family wedding and academic conference) I was astonished and pleasantly surprised to read an FBC website news item (21st September 2017) that the Minister for Health and Medical Services (Ms. Rosy Akbar) was “ appalled with the deteriorating condition of some hospitals around the country (because of) the lack of timely maintenance over the years”. Ms Akbar was quoted by FBC “I have walked across CWM Hospital, very old facility. I see the floor worn out, taps leaking… chipped paint here and there … I don’t understand why it has taken us so long to come to 2017 and identify this and start fixing it?” The only thing that Ms Rosy Akbar did not ask was “Why has it taken the Bainimarama Government so long to find this out, given that they have been in power for more than ten years? “What on earth were the previous Ministers of Health (like Usamate) doing?” “Why did the Ministers of Finance (Bainimarama and Khaiyum) not allocate enough funds for maintenance when they have overspending hundreds of millions on roads that fall apart after every big rain?” Yes indeed. If these observations had been made by Opposition parliamentarians, FBC and Fiji Sun would have immediately snarled “they are just playing politics”. But of course, Ms Rosy Akbar is not playing politics because she would never have spoken so honestly had she been “playing politics” as a FFP Minister. The Fiji voters might wish to consider that “for the first time in the history of Fiji” (ummmm, perhaps the last ten years?) there is a Fiji First Party minister who appears to be speaking the truth, however irritating it may be (and will be) to her Party Boss and some ministerial colleagues. August 2017The FijiSun reported that Fiji's dictator and woman basher, Voreqe Bainimarama, who was accompanied by the Climate Change Champion, Inia Seruiratu, responded to queries from Methodists at the Bose Ko Viti about his role as COP23 President. He told a packed audience at the Methodist Centenary Church in Suva that his presidency role at COP23 in Bonn, Germany, in November was not about politics and gaining a name for himself or the country. Oh really!
The dictator said that his role was about saving the world and giving a voice for small island nations and standing by what is right for the benefit of all Pacific Islands. He also stated that Climate change should not be taken as a chance to gain political attributions, but it is about fighting for the people, for the sake of the next generation and generations to come. Is this why he has ignored the victims of TC Winston for almost two years? The victims are still living in poverty, in leaky tents with their children attending school also in leaky and muddy tents! This is despite the over $150 million in cash donations given to help these victims! What little help Bainimarama gave, to only a few select victims, benefited the building suppliers more than it did the victims. Over 150 schools still need assistance. The Auditor General has also highlighted the misuse of these donations by the Bainimarama government. So how exactly, in this case, has JV Bainimarama applied what he said and is doing what is right for the people? We can't see it, can you? Click HERE to read more. The Fiji dictatorship's publication reported that the Media Industry Development Authority chairperson, Ashwin Raj, described the National Federation Party leader, Biman Prasad, as a hypocrite for his selective championing of media freedom.
Mr Prasad had asked, what many across Fiji were thinking, why Raj had not defended The Fiji Times against criticisms made by the corrupt and lying, megalomaniac AG Khaiyum. Raj stated that there were many instances when he had been quick to point a finger at the Fiji Sun and the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation for their coverage. Okay, so where are these many instances??? The reality is that Raj couldn't give an honest answer to Mr Prasad's question, so he attempted to deflect attention from the truth by accusing Mr Prasad of being a hypocrite before diving into his usual rhetoric, using big words that only impresses his mother. fijivillage reports that Fiji's megalomaniac, lying and corrupt AG Khaiyum stated that his Govt intends to make public transport attractive and sexy for people. He made the comment while responding to a question about traffic problems around Suva and we just had to share this image with you.
Khaiyum: From homemade terrorist to acting PMThe article in the fiji UNCENSORED blogsite [dated 5 June, 2009] reminds us of the terrorist mindset of Fiji's corrupt, lying and megalomaniac AG Khaiyum. It outlines Khaiyum's involvement in bomb making in Fiji and the recruitment of agents to use those bombs. Blood was split! And yet, Fiji's homegrown terrorists is welcomed with open arms by Australia and New Zealand who send their troops to hunt-down and kill terrorist fighting in foreign lands.
Fiji UNCENSORED writes, "FOR someone who masterminded and single-handedly devised homemade bombs with the aim of blowing up several public buildings in Suva at the height of the 1987 coup, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has done well for himself. Really, from a home-grown terrorist to acting Prime Minister of Fiji this month, Khaiyum has achieved what many can only dream of." Click HERE to read more. The FijiTimes reported that Dictator and PRIME Minister, JV Voreqe Bainimarama, stated that the appointment of people by Government to the positions of ministers, CEOs, board members or civil servants is done on merit. Oh Really! Is this why he appointed his unqualified children, brother and family to key government positions?
"When we appoint people on merit, we will get the job done well," said the dictator. This is only true if it is actually done, and people are actually appointed on merit. But in reality people are being appointed because they support everything said by the corrupt and lying dictator! "We will also ensure that all Fijians get the best outcome" claimed Bainimarama. IF this were true then why are the victims of TC Winston and their children still living and schooling in leaky and muddy tents? Its almost 2 years since cyclone Winston! Bainimarama made these comments while officiating as chief guest at the fundraiser for the redevelopment of the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha Rewa branch at Narere Primary School. Bainimarama said that he knows "that belief — that vision for Fiji" — is shared by the community". Bullshit! The community wants affordable cost of living! Jobs! A house! And safety! None of which is available under the Bainimarama/Khaiyum dictatorship. Mick Beddoes shows voters how JV Bainimarama and his corrupt and lying dictatorship has lied and used the youth of Fiji.
In his Facebook post Beddoes asks if people know the facts of Bainimarama's lies. We suspect that many don't know the facts or choose to ignore the facts because it benefits them. According to Beddoes, and you can easily check this out for yourselves, Fiji's corrupt and lying dictator, JVBainimarama, in his remarks in the 2017-18 budget debate stated that his government has "kept the faith with our people - every Fijian worker and especially the young, the elderly and the vulnerable. This is not on the back of one budget, but successive budgets over the past decade. Each of them," according to the dictator, were "building blocks that we are putting in place year by year to achieve our vision of eventually becoming a fully-fledged modern nation state. You see, we have a vision". This is wonderful fancy words, but the reality is not so much. Beddoes highlights the facts for the lazy and less educated, too obsessed and greedywith receiving free stuff to see the truth. According to Beddoes, and we concur, that decade referred to by the corrupt and lying Fiji dictator and PM means that it started in 2007. Therefore, as Beddoes highlights, "after 6 successive budgets one would expect his Youth programs to be well advanced by 2012, especially if as he claims he has kept the faith with our Youth". But this is not the case! The reality is seen in the "actual expenditures" from 2007 to 2012 when the Fiji first government, ‘slashed’ the Youth budget by (49%) to just $3.5 million per annum" says Beddoes, down "from the $7.2 per annum pre-coup period 2001 to 2006. And as if the 49% reduction on Youth spending over their first 6 years was bad enough, the emphasis in their 2012 Budget for our Youth was limited to zero rating duty on specialized sports equipment, sports supplements and musical instruments. Providing $150,000 to upgrade 5 rural sports grounds, and $3 million to the Fiji Sports Council." Beddoes continues, that this is "Before the Youth can afford to buy the equipment, they need jobs, but there was nothing specific about employment creation in the 2012 budget except for reducing corporate taxes and hoping it will increase employment. In 2013 ahead of the 2014 elections, the allocation increased to $5.3 million and again in 2017 ahead of the 2018 elections it’s jumped to $23 million. In total $78.3 million in the 5 years to 2017, however about $21.4 million of this increase simply gets the Youth funding back to the levels it once was 11 years ago. Therefore the effective increase in the allocation announced in the 2017-18 budget for our Youth by Fiji First" says Beddoes, "is just 30.8%." Beddoes goes on to say that "It is worth noting that 50% of the increase in Fiji First spending for our Youth in this period comes in the last 12 months of their 11 year rule. Is this keeping or abandoning the faith? Compare this" says Beddoes, "to the 185% increase in the Prime Minister’s salary to $328,750 over the same period, and you get a sense of where Fiji first’s priorities lay. This increase of his does not include his $3,000 a day allowance or the funds he gets from his $57 million budget as President of COP 23. His building blocks look solid, not so our Youth's" Beddoes is on point. We have always argued, and still do, that Bainimarama is all about feeding his greed and desire to remain out of prison for his sedition, treason, murder, rape, corruption and theft of indigenous Fijian lands and resources. All at the expense of the innocent and less educated people of Fiji. July 2017THE Israeli Government has sent doctors to Fiji who will perform complicated surgeries. More than 50 Fijian children will undergo medical surgery by the team of specialists. In addition, Israel has offered to assist the Bainimarama dictatorship with the 2018 general election.
The medical assistance was welcomed, but some think the offer of assistance with the 2018 election will be turned down as it may interfere with khaiyum's plan's, as per the 2014 elections, to rig the votes in favour of the FijiFirst party. This is assuming that Israel's assistance involves helping to ensure free and fair elections across Fiji without any vote tampering. But we'll have to wait to find out more and see if Israel's offer is accepted or rejected. The Bainimarama dictatorship continues to make fools of the Fijian people. Sadly many of the less educated in society have been easily fooled, blinded by shiny free gits, most of which were donated by reluctant donors!
Many already know that the dictatorship received over $150 million in cash donations to help the victims of Tropical Cyclone Winston. This was in early 2016. Yet nearly two years after the cyclone the victims still live in leaky and muddy tents. Their children attend school in similar leaky and muddy tents. The help for home has only helped a few, mostly the suppliers. So where did all the donations go if it was not used on the victims? Now Bainimarama says that its okay to borrow $170 million to fix the schools! So what happened to the donations? STOLEN! Just look at the Auditor General's findings, millions of dollars are unaccounted for. This is the polite way of saying "stolen!" Now months away from the next general elections the broke and corrupt Bainimarama government, as per the Auditor General's findings, splashes out giving boats to Naweni village and pots and pans and other gifts to villagers in Koro and a few other places. BUT not everyone gets it, especially those who really need it. The free gifts are all for show! To fool the less educated and gullible of society! Meanwhile, with the other hand, Bainimarama has taken $5 million to fix his house! This is in addition to his already hefty salary of over $200,000 which is more than what the leaders of the world's largest populations, China and India, are paid. Don't forget, Bainimarama's free house, vehicles, shopping, credit card and an extra $3,000 per day allowance for each and every day he is away from Fiji. JV Bainimarama pays himself more money, in just three months, than the combined earnings of entire Fijian villages in a whole year! Millions more have been used to buy military bushmaster vehicles to protect cowards who quickly surrendered at the start of a firefight. The first time ever for a Fijian unit to surrender! These are the very same cowards who act tough, threaten and beat up defenseless and unarmed citizens in Fiji! Remember that attitude reflects leadership! Meanwhile, many of the victims of TC Winston still wait patiently, in poverty, for assistance from the donations given to help them. But we must not forget the majority of citizens living under the poverty line and those in need of medical assistance, four babies died while in hospital, the very place where they should be safe! This is all clear that JV Bainimarama doesn't care about the people! He is using the people to further his greed, corruption and ambition to stay in power and out of prison, by hook or by crook, come 2018! FIJI VILLAGE reports that JV Bainimarama has stated that his corrupt FijiFirst party is ready to govern after the next election to ensure that they continue with their vision and provide for everyone in the country. This is why the victims of TC Winston still live in leaky tents and their children still school in leaky and muddy tents, almost two years after the cyclone has past. Fiji is facing its highest levels of unemployment, highest levels of poverty and cost of living!
The corrupt, lying and murderer dictated, Bainimarama, also said that he will go into the next election with the Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum by his side and 49 other candidates. This means that the dictator's FFParty is considering contesting 51 of the 50 seats! According to FijiVillage the dictator Bainimarama says that no one would like to see the basic hourly pay rate for unskilled workers rise more than him. Oh really!! Is this why he increased the rate from $2.32 to $2.68 an hour? That's just 36 cents! Meanwhile, the unskilled Bainimarama gave himself an increase in salary and expenses of more than $2 million dollars! Remember that JV BAinimarama also promoted his unqualified, unskilled and incompetent children and relatives to senior government positions. Why does Fiji's AG-Khaiyum need so many security guards around him at all times?...
