Fiji One news reported a Statement by Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, who said that, in adhering with last night's statement by the Prime Minister [at midnight] and as per the FijiFirst Government's strong stance on adhering to strict Covid-safe protocols and maintaining high standards of Parliamentary behaviour, the Prime Minister has relieved Hon Joseph Nitya Nand of his responsibilities as the Assistant Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts effective from 31 May 2021. Although this is rather unfortunate for Hon Nand, the FijiFirst Government has to maintain and be seen to be maintaining strict policing of COVID-safe measures by every Fijian citizen, especially one of its own party members. Oh, really!! We believe, as we have demonstrated in the past, that implementation of our principles must begin at home. We do not discriminate and as per our party policy, we treat every Fijian equally". Yeah right! More double standards! Foreign Minister Inia Seruiratu, who was also physically present in that same parliament sitting, was NOT seen to be maintaining strict policing of COVID-safe measures because he was clearly not in home isolation for 4 days! Seruiratu was photographed sitting rather relaxed at the Defence Ministry planning session! fijivillage.com reports Fiji's corrupt Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama saying that "if the members of opposition had it their way, they would have abandoned Fiji Airways, its employees and their families by now."
What a hypocrite! Voreqe Bainimarama and his minister for everything [but a master of none except for deceit, lies and corruption!] Sayed-Khaiyum are the very ones responsible for abandoning [firing] almost 800 Fiji Airways staff, including cabin crew and pilots, on 25 May 2020. Many of whom are still struggling to make ends meet. Yes, the hypocrite Bainimarama abandoned almost 800 Fiji Airways staff and their families in 2020 and now claims that the opposition would have abandoned them if they had their way! What a load of rubbish! Bainimarama made his arrogant claim while supporting the motion to amend the government guarantee period to Fiji Airways. Bainimarama said that it is important that they take all necessary measures to salvage our national airline. Oh really! How is it "Our national airline" when it does not belong to the people! Nor does parliament know who the real owners of the aircraft are! Ownership tags in each aircraft clearly state that the planes are LEASED and not owned by the people of Fiji. They are instead owned by a company listed in Ireland. Sayed-Khaiyum refuses to reveal the true owners. It is clear that Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum's persistence in preserving the insolvent airline during this pandemic has nothing to do with the people of Fiji and everything to do with their corruption. According to a senior military source, each man received millions in commissions for choosing Airbus and then arrogantly made Fiji a guarantor for the aircraft. If the Fiji government is made to be guarantor then surely Fiji Airways should open its books to Fiji's parliament. But not so! It's all a secret. Seems Sayed-Khaiyum and Bainimarama are afraid that their corruption will be revealed! The airlines existing Boeing aircraft served the Airline's needs well until Sayed-Khaiyum and Bainimarama forced their stupidity and corruption on the company! They choose Airbus specifically for the commissions, said the senior military source. Now Fiji is stuck with having to pay $34 million a month, as Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum and their corrupt families enjoy their ill-gotten millions! Meanwhile, 100's of thousands across Fiji go hungry and struggle to make ends meet! The latest emergency parliamentary meeting is further proof that the Bainimarama Govt doesn't care about YOU the people, who are suffering in Fiji.
The new strain of the covid virus that is causing additional hardships and deaths was, according to senior military sources, brought to Fiji by the incompetent minister for everything Sayed-Khaiyum!
So the corrupt FijiFirst Bainimarama govt holds an Emergency meeting, NOT to discuss ways to help the people, but to get more funds to pay for their insolvent Fiji Airways aircraft, many of which sit idle. Remember, Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum had travelled to France to bring the new Airbus Aircraft to Fiji. On his return, Bainimarama was able to pay-back, in one lump sum, the illegal back-pay he to took for leave that he had already used, and wasn't entitled to. An amount totalling $205,000. This smells of corruption, a commission for the aircraft, which military sources say amounted to millions of dollars to Bainimarama, Sayed-Khaiyum and the Fiji Airways CEO! Hence, the on-going govt guarantees for idle aircraft! Then low and behold, after the Govt Guarantee for Fiji Airways is passed, the next parliament sitting is cancelled by the corrupt and treasonous speaker Epeli Nailatikau! The reason, a member of the Parliamentary staff was suddenly identified as a primary contact of a Covid-19 positive case! Yeah right! Remember, that Sayed-Khaiyum and Frank Bainimarama have a 15 year record of lying to Fiji and to the world. This makes it a very safe bet to assume that the unfortunate staff member is just another lie. A lie to have the next parliament sitting cancelled. This is to avoid having to face questions about the hundred's of millions of dollars in Aid funds that have gone missing! Missing, because only 10% of the total aid has been used to help those of you who are suffering in Fiji. Definition of an IMBECILE!
It seems Fiji's corrupt Bainimarama dictatorship is up to its old tricks, yet again!
Fiji received over $400 million from Foreign governments and institutions, including millions in donations from Australia and NZ to help ease the people's sufferings, yet only 10% has been used on the people! The 10% includes the $90 assistance paid to certain affected families. It's for a month! Imagine living on that for a month! Then there's the bad Punja's rice unfit for human consumption that was distributed as part of the corrupt FijiFirst Government's ration distribution! This appears to be the modus operandi of the corrupt Bainimarama government that is being run by the megalomaniac AG Sayed-Khaiyum! The government pays a high price for quality goods and services, but delivers cheap crap to the people! Someone is laughing all the way to the bank! Just look at the 100's of millions spent on Fiji's roads! So where has the rest of the aid funds and donations gone too?!!! It's certainly not reaching those who need it most! This suggests that the 10% provided to only a portion of the people who need the aid seem more like a minimum requirement by the donors! It also seems that the foreign governments with all their highly educated academics and civil servants have their own hidden agendas. If the donors were serious about helping the people, claims a very annoyed old man who regularly helps organise supplies to send to Fiji, then they could use the NGO's. They are far more efficient than the corrupt Bainimarama government! The donors could also make it a rule that all donations need to be transparent and accounted for to the people! Oh yes, wouldn't that be nice!! Meanwhile, the people continue to struggle!! Source of images and story: Ferrel Khan, Fiji Exposed Forum. Military sources say that Fiji's most despised citizen, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, returned from Singapore following surgery for a heart problem and a blocked passage.

Radio NZ reports Fiji's NGOs saying that now is not the time to spend big on the PM's offices. A handful of Opposition MP's also voiced the same concerns, while other Opposition MPs remain silent!
Fiji's Alliance for the Covid-19 Humanitarian Response said that the government's plan to spend $7million dollars on a new office block for Bainimarama is despicable, especially when the country is facing a national crisis, due to the pandemic. The latest COVID-19 outbreak says SBS News forced Fiji's capital into lockdown. This occurred just a few days after Fiji's least educated PM Frank Bainimarama, who refused to close the borders, boasted that no other nation could match his governments [fake] record of avoiding transmission for a year! The Indian variant is reported by various sources to have entered Fiji on a flight from Singapore with Fiji's most detested and corrupt individual Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum. Now Fiji's health officials are saying they feared a "tsunami" of cases. Spokesperson for Fiji's Alliance for the Covid-19 Humanitarian Response Shamima Ali said all the NGOs hear constantly from people needing food or PPE or those already poverty-stricken and struggling. About 258,053 Fijians were living in poverty BEFORE COVID arrived in Fiji. This is according to the estimates in the 2019-2020 Household Income and Expenditure Survey conducted by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics. It is based on 864,132 Fijians living in 199,688 conventional households and excludes those living at the ‘fringes’ of poverty. The report also claims that approximately 86,218 children [ages 1-14], 157,558 adults [15-64] and 14,276 senior citizens are classified as ‘poor ’. These citizens were already living in poverty when Bainimarama's fake economic boom crashed in 2019. 245,000 citizens are now unemployed or under employed. So Ali rightfully said that the announcement of the new building complex at such a time is callous. But Bainimarama doesn't care! His decision also reaffirms what many already know, that Frank Bainimaram cares more for himself and his corrupt family and friends than he does for the people suffering under his failed leadership! "It makes you really very angry" says Ali, "that, how can a leader, how can leadership be so callous and so uncaring about the people. And they can announce this luxury, which is totally unneeded. Is this the time to do such things, you know? So it really is so disheartening and enraging," Ali also said that the present offices could easily be refurbished and all available government money needed to go towards dealing with the pandemic, rescuing the country's hospitals and improving food security. Fiji has received over $80million in donated assistance from Australia and New Zealand, but only 10% has been used to assist the people. Reposting from Michael Field's Facebook post.
Suva pandemic scene. After encouraging people to stay at home, and to be distant when out, the Fiji Government has given $90 to those in need to carry them over the pending lockdown. The delivery system for this money has the money sent by the government to Vodafone phones held by individuals. To get the cash, each person then has to take it to Vodafone, or an agent, and present it to be paid the $90. Vodafone is a government owned company that takes a profit on the transaction. More importantly, the system now being used has required thousands of people to stand on streets queuing for hours to get their $90 cash. All in the midst of a Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete, a Fijian politician and Member of the Parliament of Fiji who is also the current Minister for Health and Medical Services in the FijiFirst government, listens to Fiji's dictator Frank JV Bainimarama explaining something at a Covid virus briefing....
The same Bainimarama that refused to close borders and boasted about his Covid containment record. Then just days later Fiji imposed a three-day lockdown in response to a sudden outbreak of COVID-19 cases, linked to the B16-17 variant from India that was reported to have come on a flight from Singapore with the AG Sayed-Khaiyum. The move was announced only 30 minutes before it was enforced. wsws.org reported that "while limited and inadequate, the measure was the strictest since COVID-19 hit the country in March last year. The main island of Viti Levu and other parts of the country went into lockdown, with people ordered indoors from May 1 to May 3. No businesses were allowed to operate for a 56-hour period and contact tracing was carried out around the capital Suva and neighbouring towns. Authorities banned inter-island travel and Fiji Airways suspended all international and domestic passenger flights. The three-day lockdown came after the Health Ministry declared the total number of active cases had risen sharply with 29 transmitted locally. The numbers are continuing to escalate. As of May 6, Fiji has had 125 cases of COVID-19, 50 active cases, and three deaths since its first case in March last year. Testing, however, is low. Just 55,000 tests have been conducted nationwide since testing began in 2020. Two doctors at Lautoka Hospital are among the newest cases. On Wednesday the hospital was cordoned off and closed after a 53-year-old surgical patent was found to be a “late stage” carrier of the virus and died. More than 400 patients, doctors, nurses, and other staff have been sequestered and effectively quarantined until it is determined who else may have had contact with the patient." The Fiji Times reported that acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has issued a warning that people who do not follow the Health stipulated two-metre social distancing requirement inside or outside a supermarket will be arrested.
“It was noticed that people still do not adhere to the instructions and are not seriously taking into consideration the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Tudravu, “This has forced the institution to enforce restrictions on the ground and take to task those who still do not comply.” Click HERE to read more. |
