On behalf of friends we call on your support for something tragic happening in Fiji. Air Pacific/Fiji Airways is trying to take 15 common individual motifs used in the everyday making of Fijian Tapa and trademark it as their own. This is wrong. The motifs belong to the people. Please click on this link and read about it (and send it on to others) : https://www.change.org/petitions/prime-minister-voreqe-bainimarama-appeal-to-stop-air-pacific-trademarking-15-distinct-masi-motifs?javascript=false What Air Pacific/Fiji Airways is trying to do is take 15 common individual motifs used in the everyday making of Fijian Tapa and trademark it as their own - after they commissioned a local artisan to come up with a logo for their plane tails. None of the individual designs used are original. They belong to the traditional and cultural history of the Fijian people. The Fijian Regime are usurpers of the airline , and what is tragic is that the puppet master of the regime (the Attorney General) is also the Registrar of Trademarkswhich means this protest could be fruitless as he dictates the actions of the different arms of government in Fiji. However with your support, this protest could go global in exposing the tactics of the military junta to suppressing protest in Fiji. If you are in Fiji and do not wish to participate for fear of persecution, this is understood. Those of you that can lend your support, we would really appreciate your support . Many thanks
