The Papua New Guinea government says its relation with Fiji will not be affected by Fiji's refusal to recognise the appointment of PNG High Commissioner, Peter Eafeare, as Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Fiji.
A spokesperson for the PNG Prime Minister, Daniel Korimbao, told the Fiji Times that Mr Eafeare is back in PNG for consultations. PNG has no plan to replace Mr Eafeare. Mr Korimbao didn't say what reasons the Bainimarama dictatorship gave for rejecting Mr Eafeare's appointment. Bainimarama has not explained his decision BUT this action, only reinforces Bainimarama's poor state of mind, which is that of a spoilt child who throws a tantrum when he does not get his way. Remember the Fiji currency? Bainimarama broke the terms of his visa to England and had to be chased from the military barracks. So on his return to Fiji he ordered that the Queens head be removed from all Fiji notes and coins. In another example, Bainimarama challenged the PS home Affairs to a fist fight. Fighting, of course, is the dialogue of the uneducated because they are unable to express themselves through words. Meanwhile, Fiji waits while the dictator and his puppet master tarnish her reputation even further.
