The New Zealand Prime Minister, John Keys, and his incompetent Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murry McCully, must be jumping for joy at the news that Fiji's illegal, corrupt and lying AG, Khaiyum, will not be standing down as Minister of Elections. Even though Khaiyum is the judge, jury and referee in Fiji's corrupt and fraudulent 2014 elections, where Khaiyum's puppet, Bainimarama, and his illegal FijiFirst party will also be contesting the elections.
Remember that, despite all the evidence to the contrary, McCully and Keys have told the NZ public and parliament that Fiji will be holding free and fair elections in 2014! What a bunch of incompetent and lying bloody wonders! Khaiyum makes a point when he claims he can stay on as Minister of Elections and Fiji First's general secretary because Sitiveni Rabuka and Laisenia Qarase were in similar positions in 1999 and 2001. BUT there are MAJOR differences between Rabuka and Qarase and Khaiyum. Professor Wadan Narsey explains the differences, that Rabuka and Qarase were lawfully elected Members of Parliament, Ministers and Prime Ministers while Khaiyum isNOT LEGAL by any stretch of the imagination. Kaiyum holds all his ministerial positions courtesy of Rear Admiral [Retired] Bainimarama’s illegal military coup and his unelected military government. This is a major difference between Rabuka and Qarase on the one hand and Khaiyum on the other hand. Rabuka’s and Qarase’s governments annually published all the Auditor General Reports on their respective governments’ revenue collection, expenditure and public debt borrowing, said Prof Narsey, thereby showing their willingness to be accountable to the voters (and taxpayers) of Fiji. In contrast, Bainimarama and Khaiyum, arrogantly refuse to release the Auditor General Reports, showing their utter contempt for the basic principle of accountability of all Ministers (including the Minister for Elections) to tax-payers for the last eight years (two normal terms of government), and also suggesting this government has a lot to hide." This is corruption! But a lot of our people are still falling easy prey to Bainimarama and Khaiyum's lies, false promises, bribes, free sewing machines and other free gifts. Unless, as Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi wrote, the Fijian silence is not a sign of approval or support. If this is the case then the people are just taking the free gifts because they are just that, free. Prof Narsey says there are clear differences between an elected accountable Minister of Elections holding a political party position, and an unelected and unaccountableMinister. Even more so when the same Minister for Elections is also the source of a totally unreasonable and unpopular Electoral Decree and Constitution, which has been unilaterally imposed on voters, supposedly setting the election rules, but which apparently cannot be applied to:
Remember that:
