Its interesting to hear many people talk about the 2014 elections as if it will solve Fiji's current crisis with its dictator. They seem to think that the elections, if held, will be as simple as the wining party taking over control of the country from the dictator, Bainimarama, and his megalomaniac puppet master and their group of corrupt families and friends.
That the dictator and his puppet master, Khaiyum, will just simply step aside and give up all that power and control over Fiji and its wealth, which they have been looting since 2007. That they will just simply give up their multiple salaries, their high life, all the bribes and free-rides, their multiple properties and the millions they steal from the cheap Chinese loans. That they will simply give this all up and not worry about the risk of going to prison for life because they have immunity from prosecution for their crimes of treason, sedition, murder, corruption, torture, nepotism and theft of native lands. WRONG! By crook or by coup they will retain power post elections! The puppet dictator, Bainimarama, is already out and about campaigning while political parties are being held back awaiting the elusive electoral decree.
